About Johor Cricket
Our Achievements
The Johor Cricket Council (JCC) is a pioneer in Malaysian cricket, consistently pushing boundaries and achieving great things. They hold the distinction of being the first state in the country to:
- Introduce cricket into primary schools (1987), increasing accessibility for young players.
- Build a dedicated cricket oval (1997) for proper playing facilities.
- Establish the first cricket academy in Southeast Asia (1997), nurturing talent through development programs.
- Construct the first indoor cricket hall in Southeast Asia (2008), enabling year-round training and matches.
The JCC's commitment extends beyond these foundational achievements. More recently, they've seen success in:
- The U19 Women's team's historic victory in the inaugural Malaysia Cricket Association (MCA) U19 Interstate Tournament (December 2023), highlighting their dedication to developing young female cricketers.
Our History
Steeped in tradition, the Johor Cricket Council (JCC) has been the driving force behind cricket in Johor since the 1864. With the patronage of Sultan Abu Bakar, a cricket enthusiast himself, the sport took root in the state. The JCC's pioneering spirit is evident throughout its history. They were the first in Malaysia to introduce cricket in primary schools (1987), build a dedicated cricket oval (1997), and establish Southeast Asia's first cricket academy (1997). This dedication continued with the construction of the region's first indoor cricket hall (2008).
